for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Chief Architect supporting
one of our premier programs in the business unit, where your
knowledge of networking, infrastructure, security, and most
importantly your experience with designing / architecting solutions
will be keep you challenged. This position is on-site role at our
Richardson, TX or Aurora, CO campus.What You Will Do
- Ensure new missions seamlessly integrate with existing program
technical baseline
- Develop and maintain improvement roadmaps
- Work with program leadership to ensure effective risk
mitigation, testing, and opportunity capture
- Apply scientific and mathematical knowledge when performing
engineering tasks
- Use systems thinking to contribute to modeling and analysis and
work independently to create system architecture model
products
- Review the outputs of systems modeling and analysis, ensuring
the results can be used for the intended purpose
- Support and attend technical inspection reviews and technical
interchanges in support of the program as the systems architect
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology,
Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 10+ years of prior
relevant experience
- Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to
start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are
eligible for a security clearance
- Experience with architecture governance and System Engineering
design principles
- Experience in ground satellite control systems and a deep
understanding of the Tasking Command Processing Exploitation and
Dissemination (TCPED) flow
- Experience conducting system architecture in systems that
interact with external entitiesQualifications We Prefer
- Ability to decompose and communicate system architecture and
governance concepts as well as experience working projects, and/or
programs consisting of Ground-related SE, SW development, and
IV&V functions
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities as well as
demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with
management and individual contributors
- Experience with any of the following: Cloud technologies and
migration to the Cloud, Containerization and databases, Automation
(Build, Deploy, Test), Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence,
Bitbucket, etc.), and/or Evaluation of COTS/FOSS
- Experience with different Architecture Frameworks
- Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile
development environment
- Experience with modeling resources and methodologies
(Cameo)
- Thorough working knowledge of: Reliability Maintainability and
Availability Analysis, Volumetric and Margin Analysis, Systems and
Software Design Patterns, Cloud and On-Premise Hybrid
Architectures
- Experience working in or with multiple Engineering Disciplines
(Software, Database, Infrastructure, Security, Systems, and/or
Test)

- Location Information: This position is an onsite role at our
Aurora, CO (Denver area) campus: - OR - at our Richardson, TX
(North Dallas) campus: The salary range for this role is 118,000
USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith
estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers
several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited
to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a
candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key
skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but
